What Is Data Centre Decommissioning?
Data centre decommissioning is the safe clearing out of servers and related equipment when you no longer need them. We plan the job with you, remove the equipment, wipe or destroy the data on every drive, and recycle the hardware. It applies to a server room in your office, rented space in a data centre, or a whole site you’re closing.
Decommissioning After a Cloud Migration
Moving your systems to the cloud is only half the job. Once everything has been moved and checked, the servers, storage and network gear left behind are no longer needed. They still hold your data, though, and they take up space and power.
That’s where we come in. We collect the old hardware from your office or server room, wipe or destroy the drives, and recycle the equipment, so nothing is left behind.
Common Reasons for Data Centre Decommissioning
Moving to the cloud
Leaving a rented data centre
Closing or moving an office
Merging or consolidating sites
Upgrading old hardware
Closing a backup or disaster recovery site

Tell us your date when you contact us, and we’ll plan the job around it. Same-day pickups are available for urgent jobs.
