Why Old Computers and Laptops Need Careful Disposal
An old laptop in a cupboard can hold years of emails, customer records, staff details and passwords. Dropping it in a bin, or handing it to the wrong person, puts all of that at risk. It also sends useful metals and plastics to landfill.
Deleting files or doing a factory reset isn’t enough. Some data can still be recovered from the drive. That’s why we wipe every drive properly, give you proof, and recycle what’s left responsibly.

Data Security
Data Security Comes First
When your business retires old computers, servers, or hard drives, the equipment isn’t the risk. The data left on it is. Before any device is sorted, refurbished, or recycled, it goes through a secure data destruction process designed to remove that risk completely and verifiably.
Why Data Destruction Matters
Old hard drives, decommissioned servers, and devices from departing employees often still hold customer records, financial data, or internal documents long after they’re considered junk. Simply deleting files or formatting a drive doesn’t remove the data, it just hides it. A device that ends up resold, scrapped, or landfilled without proper erasure can expose your business to data breach risk and regulatory compliance issues.

Computer and Laptop Recycling FAQs
Is computer and laptop recycling really free?
Pickup is free for eligible business and school collections. If you’re not sure yours qualifies, call us and we’ll tell you before you commit to anything.
Do I need to wipe my computer before pickup?
No. We take care of the data erasure for you. Just back up any files you want to keep, because wiped data can’t be recovered.
What happens to the data on my hard drive?
We wipe it with professional erasure software, or destroy the drive if needed.
Can you recycle laptops that are broken or won't turn on?
Yes. Old, slow and broken computers and laptops are all fine. We’ll wipe what we can, destroy what we can’t, and recycle the rest.
Do you collect laptops from schools?
Yes. We can plan the pickup around school terms and holidays. Tell us roughly how many devices you have and where, and we’ll arrange a time.
What else can I include in the pickup?
Monitors, keyboards, mice, speakers, docking stations, webcams, headsets, external hard drives, USB drives, power supplies and chargers can all go in the same collection.
