What Is IT Asset Disposal?

IT asset disposal (often called ITAD) is the safe way to retire old IT equipment. It means collecting the equipment, erasing the data on it, and then reusing or recycling what’s left.

It matters because old computers, servers and network gear still hold your files, staff details and customer records. It’s also better for the environment than letting equipment sit in a storeroom or end up in landfill. Businesses and schools both need a simple, safe way to do it.

What Happens to Your Old IT Equipment

Reuse comes first. If a computer, phone or other device still works, we reuse it where we can. Everything else is taken apart by approved recyclers, who recover metals, plastics and other materials so they can be used again. Broken or very old equipment is welcome too.

Every drive is wiped, or destroyed if needed, before anything is recycled.

Equipment that can be reused is reused. The rest goes to approved recyclers, so useful materials are recovered and nothing ends up in landfill.

We use professional data erasure software (Active@ KillDisk) to wipe hard drives and SSDs. If a drive can’t be wiped, or you’d like it destroyed, we destroy it.
